About Us

Founded in 1970 in Winston-Salem as City Nursing, for over 50 years our commitment to providing honest, caring, dependable care has remained strong. In 1994, City Nursing was bought by Bob Coil, a former vice president of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Bob was looking for a second career that would give him the opportunity to help people. When he purchased the company, City Nursing had just a handful of clients and about a dozen caregivers. He devoted himself to growing the company with the goal of providing exceptional care to as many people as possible throughout the Winston-Salem area. Today Piedmont Home Care serves over 60 clients and has more than 125 care providers on staff and has expanded beyond Winston-Salem to include all of Forsyth County and parts of Guilford and Davie Counties.
Our Company
In addition to being a locally owned and operated company for over half a century, Piedmont Home Care is also a family-owned company. Bob’s son and daughter have both joined him in the business, bringing their own special talents to the company and helping add to the caring, family atmosphere provided through Piedmont Home Care. We know when the time comes to have someone come in and provide care in your home that you are looking for someone you can trust and depend on.
Our core values, Professional, Honest, Compassionate, are more than just words, it is what we live by. We go to great lengths to ensure that we hire only the best caregivers able to provide exceptional care, going above and beyond what is expected. And we make sure you know you can count on us. We do not miss a scheduled shift, even if the weather is bad. When streets are covered with ice and snow, Bob Coil and his staff get out in four-wheel-drive vehicles to bring caregivers to their clients.
Our commitment to the Piedmont Triad community is what drives our deep commitment to provide the best quality, most friendly home health care in our area. We ask that everyone who applies to work with Piedmont Home Care has lived in North Carolina for at least five years because we feel that a knowledge of this area and the people who live here plays an important role in providing quality, compassionate care.
